Grief and loss can be overwhelmingly scary, painful and confusing bringing up lots of different emotions like sadness, anger, guilt, shame, and relief. You may be grieving what you had in the past, or a future you lost. Some ways you may be struggling include:

Death: Learning someone you loved has died can be devastating. You may be having a hard time getting through each day, finding motivation, or knowing what to do next.

Career: Feeling unhappy or unmotivated with your career or trying to navigate a new situation at work can be challenging as career can be a big part of your identity.

Friendships/relationships: Struggling with the impact of current or recently ended friendships or relationships.

Life changes: Experiencing change can feel overwhelming, confusing, scary and out of your control. Some examples are separation, divorce, aging, moving to a new place or starting university.

Health: Adjusting to you or someone you love having new diagnoses, limitations, treatment effects or changes to routines can be scary and isolating.

Caregiving: Caring for someone you love can be rewarding but also physically and mentally exhausting. Seeing them struggle, dealing with family dynamics and advocating for services can feel isolating, and lead to stress, burnout, isolation, and financial strains.
