This is an opportunity for you to share what you’re dealing with and ask questions and for me to explain my approach and policies. Both ask questions to ensure this is a good fit. If this is outside of my scope or I’m not able to help, this is communicated and referrals are provided.

Everyone is different, so every session is different. For the first session, we get to know one another. I’ll try to understand what brought you in, what’s working or not and what can be tweaked for improvement. Sessions typically involve you sharing your feelings and experiences, working together to identify and address what you’re struggling with and identifying effective coping strategies.

Love and Loss therapy offers both virtual and in-person sessions to accommodate you. Research shows both are effective and are encouraged to try what works best for you. If unsure, you can try both!

You’ll be asked to upload your credit card information to Jane which is secure and confidential and processed by the clinic.

No, social work services are exempt from HST.

Your appointment time is reserved for you. If you can’t attend and don’t cancel within 24 hours of the appointment time, the full fee will be charged.

I’m a social worker and practice psychotherapy. Most insurance policies cover social work services and/or psychotherapy but please double check to be sure!

Everything shared is completely confidential. Exceptions include suspected child abuse, dependent adult/elder abuse or if a client threatens serious bodily harm to another person or intends to harm themselves. A safety plan can be created which sometimes includes family members or other service providers.
